A5AHV or A5AHC: which air handler?

• A5AHV variable-speed: the blower ramps up and down for quieter airflow, steadier temperatures and better humidity control. These systems include a BAYHTR electric heat kit sized for the system.
• A5AHC convertible: a multi-position air handler that installs upflow, downflow or horizontal. It's the lower-cost option; add a heat kit if you need backup heat.

Can I add a heat kit later?

Yes. Most A5AHC systems here don't include a heat kit. Add the matching BAYHTR kit for backup heat.

Is RunTru made by Trane?

Yes. RunTru is a brand of Trane Technologies.

Do I need a heat kit?

In mild climates, often not. Where winters drop below freezing, an electric heat kit provides backup heat when the heat pump alone can't keep up.

What refrigerant do these systems use?

R-454B, the lower-GWP refrigerant replacing R-410A. It's an A2L refrigerant, so install to current codes.
