Which Goodman air handler fits your home?

• AMST multi-position: 9-speed ECM blower and factory TXV. Installs upflow, downflow or horizontal in a closet, attic or basement. The best-value choice for most homes.
• AMVT variable-speed: communicating variable-speed blower for quieter airflow, steadier temperatures and better humidity control. Pairs with Goodman two-stage systems.
• AHVE variable-speed with EEV: internal electronic expansion valve, built for Goodman inverter heat pumps and ACs.
• AWST wall-mount: slim cabinet that mounts in a wall or closet. Common in apartments, condos and small homes. Electric heat is built in.
• ACST ceiling-mount: ducted unit that hangs horizontally above a ceiling, for homes with no closet space. Electric heat is built in.

• On AWST and ACST models, the last two digits are the built-in electric heat in kW (05 = 5 kW, 08 = 8 kW, 10 = 10 kW)

Frequently asked questions

Upflow, downflow or horizontal: which do I need?

Upflow sends air up into ducts above, common in closets and basements. Downflow sends air down into a floor plenum. Horizontal lies on its side, common in attics. These units do all three.

Can I use an R-32 air handler with my R-410A outdoor unit?

No. R-32 air handlers are built for R-32 systems. If your outdoor unit is R-410A, replace both together or choose a matched R-32 system.

Do I need a heat kit?

AMST, AMVT and AHVE models take an optional electric heat kit for backup heat. AWST and ACST models have the heat built in, so choose the kW you need.
